When you hear the words Theme Park what would strikes in your mind? When you ask me with that question, I would probably think of the roller coaster rides, famous cartoon characters, vibrant colors, lots of laughs and yells. But have you notice it? Whenever children or even young adults go to a theme park they always go first to experience riding the roller coaster. What is in the roller coaster compare to the other rides that makes it the most rushing rides among the other rides? There must be something with this ride that attracts millions of tourists.

Have you ever questioned yourself how this amazing thing works? Roller coaster accordingly don’t have engine. Yes indeed, it doesn’t have its own engine. To make the roller coaster work, the first car is pulled at the beginning of the ride. If the car is already on top, the coaster works on its own completing the ride. There is no such thing that pulled or tracks the coaster to make it work like what you have seen in it. It is the presence of the kinetic and potential energy that makes the ride move. When the coaster is in motion the different types of the wheels work as well to make the ride run smoothly. The wheels that guide on the track is called the running wheel, the wheels that control the lateral motion is the friction wheels, the final set of wheels are the ones that keeps the coaster on the track while the compressed air brakes are the ones that thwart the car as the time ends.

On the other hand, there are two types of roller coaster. The steel and the wooden coasters, these coasters can be nonlooping and looping. You will notice the difference when you try to ride the two different types of rides that depend on the material they used. Generally, the wooden coasters are known as the nonlooping coaster. Compared to the steel coaster, the wooden coaster is not as fast and as tall compare to the steel coaster and they swing more; while the steel coaster is looping, faster, and steeper than the wood coaster.
